About

Maanghang Chili Garlic is more than just spice in a jar — it carries the flavors and spirit of Lucban, Quezon, Philippines, the hometown of my mum, Vibeth Racelis, whose original family recipe inspired everything we do today.
Lucban is a colorful mountain town in the province of Quezon, famous for its rich food culture, warm hospitality, and the world-renowned Pahiyas Festival. Every May, the town transforms into a vibrant celebration of thanksgiving, where homes are decorated with colorful “kiping” leaf-shaped rice ornaments, fruits, vegetables, and local delicacies to honor a bountiful harvest.
The festival reflects the same spirit behind Maanghang Chili Garlic — bold flavor, creativity, family tradition, and bringing people together around food. Inspired by recipes proudly passed down through generations and influenced by the cooking traditions from Lucban, Maanghang brings a taste of Filipino warmth and spice from the Philippines to New Zealand.
